10(2) is certainly worth a look. But could it possibly be better than making the next best homeboard point? 5(2) (as in 8/5, 6/5) better diversifies builders (at least without leaving a direct shot).

How about 6/5, 13/10? Best distribution of builders but lots of return shots. OTOH, if opp is going to escape with 6x how much worse is it to give the lonely back checker some company?

Finally I come back to my first question: is 10(2) obviously inferior to the best play that covers the 5-point? It brings the maximum number of checkers into range of opp's currently trapped back man. Think about it -- the 5-point is a lot less valuable if there is no checker incarcerated.
