QF suggests to break the 20 point, but I do not see the why. White will hit 34/36 times if blue runs to the 14 point. Moreover, most likely white will not make a new point in the next 2-3 rolls. These 2-3 rolls are the time that 8/6 8/2 can buy if blue does not roll a 6. In those rolls, blue might roll a good double or a 9,10 or 11. In these 2-3 rolls white might bring more spares on the 8 or 10 point, or he might slot the 3. Is an extra spare or slotting the 3 really that powerful? I do not think so. I would wait.
