When ahead in the race, race. When you have the better board, an exchange of hits favors you.

Combining these two themes, since I'm not too worried about being hit, I think I'll get my runner going with 24/21, then 16/15 as moving up to the 20 invites a loose hit in a way that staying on the 21 doesn't.
