I definitely learned something from this position.

I believe that it's precisely because we're outboarded and ahead in the race that 6/1* is needed as a tempo hit. My initial perception of the position was that we have the advantage and ought to play aggressively. But as I also mentioned here, I did not have enough respect for the strength of White's forward position. We have an advantage, but not a huge one, and some degree of caution is advisable.

I believe that if you take one of White's spares from her 6pt and move it to her midpoint then the ranking of the top few plays will change. In this variant, White's threats are weaker and the tempo hit is no longer mandatory.
