I have noticed that the "backgame window", (which I define as: the number of pips that you need to be down in order to decide and play a game like it is a back game), opens much earlier when you are at dmp. I believe it also opens earlier (though less earlier in comparison to dmp) at scores where the gammon price of the opponent is low. That said, I have not really understood the extent of this phenomenon. Here is a position from my archives that might fit the theme. I have only rolled it out with old Gnu though, so I am not 100% sure it does indeed fit the theme.

The score (after 0 games) is: bot 0, boo 0 (match to 5 points)
