Candidates are:

  • $ (Slot) = 13/5
  • % (Alternate slot) = 13/11, 13/7
  • H (Hit) = 13/11, 6/2*
By virtue of slotting the better point, duping 3, and offering fewer shots, $ dominates %. The choice is then between $ and H.

$ is vulnerable to 24 shots, but cleans up nicely. It also puts a checker where we want it. When it works, we get the 5pt. H is significantly safer. Because 61 misses, H leaves only 18 shots. H also leaves fewer hit-and-cover numbers. On the other hand, H is harder to clean up than $, and even when it works, all we get is the 2pt.

It looks like we get cubed either way.

I’m not really sure, but I’ll try $. The problem with H is that, when it works, we don’t gain very much.
