I don't know if this answers your question, but I'd hit loose here and then play 10/8. White then only has 11 rolls that enter while blue has 17 that cover. yes, white gets to go first, but i like those odds. And when both sides miss, blue's chances to cover will increase while white's will remain the same.

Moreover, white's 4 point board is not as formidable as blue's 5 point board so blue is still in decent shape even after being hit.
