RO and some thoughts. Cube position?

First of all, thanks for all your ideas and explanations, this was very helpful. Many points you mentioned were not on my list OTB.

My play OTB was 6/2* 10/8. I think the reason for hitting is NOT to take away his racing chances, but to gain more G if this play works.

Another reason for me to hit was that the play 10/4 will leave a bunch of future coming home problems. Looks easy on first sight,

but I just was not sure how many ugly rolls might show up down the road.

So, I had to compare 10/8 to 4/2 which shifts the gap in my board.

In general, if things go wrong, I like to have him sitting deeper in my board. More problems to escape, less outfield control.

Plus if he hits me with a 2, and I roll 13 14 15 23 24 from the bar, I can play that ugl roll safe. Not so in case I play 4/2. Then I would have to

unlock my 10pt.

Does cube position have an effect? (++ only, too lazy for full RO)

Wow, cube position matters a lot. Why is that? If my safe play works, I can give a well timed cube on the next shake?
