First of all, thanks for all your ideas and explanations, this was very helpful. Many points you mentioned were not on my list OTB.
My play OTB was 6/2* 10/8. I think the reason for hitting is NOT to take away his racing chances, but to gain more G if this play works.
Another reason for me to hit was that the play 10/4 will leave a bunch of future coming home problems. Looks easy on first sight,
but I just was not sure how many ugly rolls might show up down the road.
So, I had to compare 10/8 to 4/2 which shifts the gap in my board.
In general, if things go wrong, I like to have him sitting deeper in my board. More problems to escape, less outfield control.
Plus if he hits me with a 2, and I roll 13 14 15 23 24 from the bar, I can play that ugl roll safe. Not so in case I play 4/2. Then I would have to
unlock my 10pt.
