Not all free drops are the same. Here your opponent is 4-away and if you use your free drop now you won't get another one. So given how close you are to 50% GWC you're better off taking now and saving your free drop to use next game.

At 2a 1a and opening of 4-1 is a free drop, but by the narrowest of margins.

Bottom line is that you can take deeper at 4a 1a than 2a 1a, as this XGR++ shows:
