Protection against the Pottle

I have had the same idea about 65R-52. Splitting seems natural, but rollouts favors playing two down. I finally concluded that it has to do with protecting against the Pottle.

That may play a part with 31P-65R-31, but I also think the race is a factor. With only 8 pips to show in his first two rolls, Blue has lost the racing advantage he won by winning the opening roll. Since he does have the better board, priming options make sense.

But so does splitting...
