Your conversation proves my point....this variation makes things more complicated and if you try it, you will see it is also very exciting to see what happens when you roll one die and then calculate your risks of taking or dropping. It puts us in new territory and raises the level of gambling and increases the variables. Of course, once we get used to this way of playing, we'll add a third cube. And then I like Sander's idea where you roll the dice but keep them under the cup so only the doubler knows what they are and they you decide to double or not...adding the bluffing element to the game.
