Actually, by blundering here the typical player will make fewer errors the rest of the game, rather than more.

Which, in some sense might make this the correct play in many circumstances.

Perhaps Stick would have made less than 0.124 worth of mistakes trying to play with 6 blots, inevitable hits, containment issues, determining when to begin making the prime, etc.

But for more human players the blunder might result in a lower PR for the game.

Now, on the other side of the equation, our opponent is going to have a tough time with error rate when he isn't facing the growing prime.

Stronger player vs weaker the blots seems like it must be right.

Weaker vs stronger and I would be surprised if it didn't work out better to make the prime, EVEN with it being a 0.124 error.
