There are both pros and cons of allowing a move to be corrected after opponent has rolled. The advantage is of course more time to realize and speak up about the error.

A disadvantage is that it opens up for a dishonest opponent to "notice" your illegal play after having rolled a bad roll himself.

And even a completely honest player might come under scrutiny if that scenario occurred.
