Bar/23 10/9 tidying up isn't an option for you?

On reflection, I think cleaning up is a much better play for Blue if he decides not to hit. If Blue enters on the the 23pt, White will surely attack there, so Blue won't get a chance to use the 4 builders I wanted to create outside. But White might find a way to "use" them!

That just makes me prefer hitting more. I don't see how Blue can become the favorite in this game if he cannot find some way of matching White's prime. If Blue can make the bar point, his timing is OK, but not great. What might happen—in case Blue cannot escape—is that White is forced to attack, and Blue could find himself winning from the bar after White cracks.
