Outfield Control Is the Issue
As I suspect is the case with many readers, I stayed away from this one initially because I was unsure of my response. Taking a second look now, I see that White may be forced to sacrifice one of his outside points if he cannot jump out with a runner. Even if White does manage to send one of his back checkers into the outer board, Blue may well hit him there. Outfield control seems to be the theme. Blue has it, and White can no longer hold his prime.
Normally with a race deficit as large as this, I would not cube. Here, I'll take a chance. Due to the race, and a position that has not collapsed as yet, I think White can take.
