What constitutes signal and what constitutes noise is a matter of personal preference, of course, but for the past couple of years at least, I've found the SNR on r.g.b. to be much higher than on BGO.

That, by the way, is one reason I've favored r.g.b. over BGO, despite the cruddy interface on r.g.b.
