Thanks to Nack for spotting an error in my Nactation of 14/8 3/2.I used N (Near), which is OK as far as the family goes. Near is used when one checker lands in the outer board, and the other is moved entirely within the innner board. The two quadrants on the “near” side are the destinations.
In this case, however, there are several members of the Near family. All of them play the 6 down to the 8pt, but there are several ways to play the 1 in the inner board. The Hit-More-6 rule is used to rank them.
Under it, switching to the 1pt ranks lowest, because holding the 2pt, which is closer to the 6pt, is better. In deciding between the top two plays (6/5 and 3/2), Hit-More-6 tells us that the blot/spare destination closest to the 6pt ranks higher.
Alternative Nactations for 14/8 3/2 are L (Lift) and 2 (Two).
- N = 14/8, 6/5
- n = 14/8, 3/2
- N = 14/8, 2/1
