OTB I would make the hit and split play, 6/1*, 24/23 fairly quickly. After Brown's nine dancing numbers, I should have at least an equal position. If hit, I can stay alive by entering on a three point board. Hitting and not splitting, 6/1*, 10/9 is wrong if only because it pays off to the 63 return shot.

Coming off the 24 point with either 24/18 or 23/24, 10/5 allows Brown to attack my back checkers and doesn't give him any awkward rolls. 10/4 looks too passive, leaving me standing worse (not sure how much worse) with two checkers back versus only one for Brown.

My play is 6/1*, 23/24.
