This position looks too gammonish to take even for someone like myself who "defends" a lot while stuck on the 25 point. However, I could be persuaded to take if I think my opponent might make a few misplays (that is, before he closes me out). For example, what is correct play if White's next roll is 43 or 65?

Of course, it's better to forget about all this "iffy" stuff, pass and play the next game.

I am not sure what's adjustment(s) are necessary to create a benchmark position. Shifting the 21 point anchor back to the 22 point seems to turn the position into a take as escaping becomes more difficult. But I am not worried at all because Igor always provides interesting variants.
