Interestingly, my instincts are the opposite: I want to play safe with 11/8, since I'm way ahead in the race and fully escaped, but I won't be surprised if making the ace is the play. It does get rid of that annoying guard and makes use of our dilly builder. We gain a lot if White rolls poorly, and if White hits, we're not dead yet because her offense is not yet that strong. Not sure. OTB I would probably play 11/8, but QF makes me vote for making the ace; that is, I suspect that Sebastiaan wouldn't have posted this if 11/8 were the play.
