Opponent handling checkers on your turn

A couple of years ago I was talking to some of the older members of the backgammon club who were active during the 70's when Backgammon was at it's height. They told me of an incident during a tournament where a player moved his opponent's dice. His opponent was a member of the local bikey gang. His opponent grabbed the offenders fingers in his hand, raised the hand above the board and said "no one moves my checkers but me". He then crushed the guys fingers, breaking two of them.

I questioned him as to whether this was an urban legend but he said "it's true, I drove the guy to the hospital".

P.S. I am not suggesting this as a way to deal players who move your checkers, no matter how much you want to.
