I agree totally that excessive exposure to early-game rollouts must be behind Taper_Mike repeatedly stating a conclusion that is in no way generally justified. In situations where XGR++ gives figures that are really far from what a 1296 full rollout shows, I have no doubt at all that the full rollout is far far better. I actually think that the truncation used by XGR++ rather than playing strength is the main reason you will encounter this and from very early game positions you will almost never get truncation at a point where the bot evaluation is miles off.
