I usually refrain from using names and didn't post this position in order to prove a point. I shared it because it attracted a lot of attention from active players and kibitzers and people were really diversified in their preferred play.

As for your decision making process as a captain - I actually admired that and would have probably done the same. You were open minded and listened to our plays and logic. I recall that at least half the players preferred an aggressive play but we were very diversified on what it should be while the rest who preferred the passive play had one alternative to suggest. Since you were not sure nor convinced about a specific play you went with the majority (even if they were minority in their approach). In this case it didn't generate optimal play but if you consider the half full glass it prevented us from blundering the play. I see it as a good way to diversify risk.

Add the fact that you were drinking wine (which apparently is your Poppey spinach) and played mainly for the fun, and I am more convinced that you handled the situation well.
