wow! I think that I am just beginning to understand a few of the benefits of cube ownership. In this case, it appears to allow us to play more aggressively to try to salvage this game.

Would we make the same play with a centered cube? Would we make the same play if our opponent held the cube. Maybe my thinking is off, but my gut says our checkerplay would be more conservative if we didn't hold the cube, to avoid drawing the cube from our opponent while we were in a precarious position.

Does cube ownership change correct checkerplay? If so, why do we have the notion of cubeless equity. Why is it useful? I understand that cubeless equity tells us our chances of winning if the game were played out to the end. However, doesn't the cube change our chances of winning the game? What am i missing here, and how does knowledge of CPW come into play?
