An Unusual Match?

I very rarely see a player winning a match when the opponent has a significant luck advantage.

I played a 17 point match last night that required 20 games.

In the first 5-6 games the opponent greatly outplayed me plus he had +7.5 luck -- not surprisingly I trailed 0-10/17.

Then the tide turned a bit -- I started playing better, the dice evened out a bit, and I think the opponent started getting a bit conservative.

I finally evened the score for the first time at 16-16 and then won the match.

In the final analysis, the opponent outplayed me in the range of his 6.5 against my 7.5. or so. Despite the luck turning a bit in the second half of the match, he still ended with a +2.8 luck factor for the match. Somehow I won.

Again, in my experience, I found it unusual that the opponent outplayed me and had substantially better dice yet was rewarded with a loss. Generally that is almost always a fatal combination.
