Yeah, you're probably right. Here's another try:
The number to look at is equity. Ignore all the other numbers for now.
The higher the equity, the better you are. If your equity is positive, you are winning. If it's negative, you are losing. If it's zero, you are neither winning or losing.
When comparing two plays, look at the equity difference. An equity value of 1.0 represents a full game, so if two plays differ by 1.0 that's a huge difference - basically the difference between winning and losing. If the plays differ by .5, then making the inferior one is like throwing away half a game in one move - again, this is huge.
Most plays differ by less than that. An equity difference of .1 is like throwing away a tenth of a game - substantial, but a game-loser all by itself. An equity difference of .01 only represents one one-hundreth of a full game and is basically inconsequential.
Try to minimize your equity losses and focus on the plays where the difference in equity is .1 or higher.
