I assume that the argument was to play 4/3, as escaping 6s win anyway for white, and that 4/3 creates more builders than 8/7. That argument ignores gammons, but also ignores the chances of hitting an indirects after an escaping 6. Just play 8/7 (also at DMP BTW).
