Interesting. If I understand correctly, the point is that I can have a market-losing sequence but still have an optional double if my opponent is supposed to cube first. If my opponent then erroneously fails to cube, I will lose my market, but I will still be playing an "optimal" (or perhaps "equilibrium" is a better term here) strategy.
That still doesn't give an example where both players are playing an equilibrium strategy yet there is market loss. It doesn't seem possible but I can't quite reason my way to a proof.
