It is interesting that you mention the cube actions. As it happens, I did turn the cube right before rolling the 32 of the original position. Below is a diagram of the ugly 64 that prompted my cube. Having seen some of the bot results, I won’t speculate what cube actions are proper in these positions. Hopefully, we can get some comments from others.
