Dual-Duel Mochy vs Petko Time Management Issue

In the first game of the 11pt match between Mochy and Petko, Mochy used up well over half his allocated 22 minutes. Near the beginning of the second game, with the score 2-0, Mochy had only 8 minutes of his 22 left.

The first game was a long back game. I am not sure this is good idea, to use over half your time in the first game.
