the highest participation tourneys that i ever saw in pool had a pretty simple formula

win your first 2 matches and get your entry back, then the balance of the $ was whacked up in a balanced way.

The best players wanted top heavy events naturally, but they were maybe 10-15% of the field,

So what comes first the chicken or the egg?

no matter what is done with the $, someone will always be pissed off, piss on them is my solution. do whats going to draw the most players. Because at the end of the day more players = more $$$, thats the long view. Short sighted people don't get that-they ride the bus......
