A difficult play for me

The play obviously revolves around blues blot on the 3 point. I only see two candidates 13/8 3/2* and 22/21 8/3. The latter play gives white a good chance of hitting on the 8 point and blue may respond by making an anchor at about the same odds. I dont like giving white a hit and good run at the same time. 13/8 3/2*is a much better proposition there's a 10% chance white will dance together with a 38% chance no hit. The 13 point is unstacked and theres an itsy bitsy prime. On re-entry a good chance of an advanced anchor. If the blot is missed theres a great chance to make the 2 point with the sentinel 6 on the 8 point. It was not really necessary to get involved in any arithmetic as being able to value a position the structures said it all.
The sun is high in the sky I am in the garden hiding under a big hat, the flowers are nodding as I thumb through Mr Olsen's new book. Its well laid out with about 30% given over to the CUBE. I found out what a "Banana split" was from 35 concepts. The books message seems to be "learn by experience and position recognition"
An aid "The Value Equation" is explained but dare I say If you get your head around "CUBE AID" you will have the legs on the Danes. Learning the cube by experience can be long term but getting ones head around the cube can really shorten the the time required, good structure is soon readily recognised in chequer play.
I am in no position to pass an opinion on its teaching value as my own reading is mostly from an old paper back scrawled on and severely trimmed by my parrot. The author is long gone.It explains the basic mechanics of backgammon. I did find a single mention of jelly fish.
The old adage "think cube every roll" is defunct should now read. "think cube and gammon every roll"
