In Response To: Pointless ELO question (vidvis)

Player A and player B are frequent opponents on a well populated backgammon site. A has a higher rating than B and so wins fewer points from a victory and losses more points from a loss, at rates inversely proportional to A's winning chances. In theory, over time and ignoring skill changing over time, friction and mass of pulleys, would the cumulative rating points gained by A's victories over B be equal to those lost due to A's losses to B (and vice versa)?
