I quickly played the "forced" 13/7 6/3 here without even considering 7/1 13/10. My play is fewer shots of course but the alternative has enough going for it to make it the slightly better play. First of all there's fewer hit and covers (5 vs. 7 after my play). Second, it's better if the oppt hits and covers since your joker returns like 31,11, or maybe 61 are much stronger since you will still have a 5 point board. Third, both plays leave 6 numbers that force you to blot again if this shot is missed but keeping your 6-point as a landing spot makes it easier for you to clear the 7-point. Fourth, net gammons go from slightly negative after my play to slightly positive after the correct play.
