Ok, I concede my 'wimpy' 13/9(2), 14/6 is not going to win the vote. Almost everyone likes 6/2*(2).
13/9(2) leaves 8 return shots (all entering deuces). It has a (unmentioned?) minus of five checkers on the 2- and 8-points combined. Only four fanning rolls, 13 rolls make the 18-point. 54 and 43 make an advanced anchor.
8/4(2) leaves 13 return shots (entering deuces, entering aces, and 53). Nine fans and 10 chances to make the 18-point. 54 makes and advanced anchor.
So the difference is the extra five hits compared to more fans, fewer rolls to make the 18-point or an advanced anchor, better homeboard for the future and better distribution of checkers.
Hard to weigh, but if we're going for the hit (which it's clear we are) then let's go all the way. "Tweeners are usually wrong."
6/2*(2), 8/4(2)
