In Response To: Post Crawford against inferior opponent (corrected) (Trunky)

What may be causing the lack of in depth responses that you're looking for is the sheer amount of time and work that goes into posting a meaningful reply to your question. I feel like this is often something that people take for granted. There are tons of posts from the past that I have never replied to and I remember thinking at the time I really wanted to. It's simply too time consuming.

A backgammon player recently emailed me after Fed's lost to Djokovic in the US Open finals wanting my opinion on if Djokovic can surpass Federer as the best ever. This is a subject that greatly interests me yet still I'm unable to make the time to write the meaningful reply (post, you'll have to read it to).

When there's no quick and snappy reply to your question the work involved to try to touch upon a meaningful answer is significant. Jake wrote a book that touches on what you're asking about. He wrote a book. An entire book. The material within' is enlightening but certainly not the final word on all the ins and outs of what you should and shouldn't do in special situations when it's weaker v. stronger player. That's the kind of answer you're looking for but you have to understand that those select people who may be able to provide you a decent answer might have other more pressing things to do than to spend hours answering the original question and all the follow up questions trying to clarify the situation and when/how it should go down.

I still sometimes get emails or text messages about poker hands. I like analyzing poker hands but even that is time consuming because the person on the other end rarely provides all the information that is needed to assess the situation. There are unanswered questions in your original post that I feel would need answering before answering your overall broader question.
