This position actually came up for me at 4a3a, where the computer says I was supposed to go for the gammons. Instead I played 8/4 5/2. I didn't consider 6/3 6/2, which seems to be the DMP play, but which also rolls out worse than 8/4 5/2 at 4a3a.
