DQ: make bar point or point deep?

It makes sense and I would have played it wrong as well.

White is threatening to anchor on the five and already has his 5. If we make the bar and leave our blot in the outfield then almost all of his rolls are good next roll and a bunch of them are excellent.

Count the number of excellent rolls he has if we make the bar. Then do the same if we point on the 1 point. It doesn't look prettier but it takes away a lot of whites crushing rolls.
