Just make the gammon go play

To me, the question is: Is the miniature prime (8-, 6-, 5-, 4-point) stable enough to keep White's straggler from escaping successfully? If so, I would tend to improve the rear position by advancing the checkers on the 22-point. For example, 22/20(2) 13/11 8/6 or even simply 22/18(2). Either way, these plays improve the control of the outfield considerably.
On the other hand, I tend to consider the miniature prime to be too feeble. For this reason, gaining a tempo might be very useful. Therefore, I like the idea both of hitting and advancing the rear point by 4/2*(2) 22/20(2).
