International Collegiate Backgammon Championships --exciting news

Though just a week from our initial announcement about this program, we have 9 countries committed to support the program, several other countries have put it on their next meeting agenda; we have many individual donations; and we have many individuals who have volunteered to begin working to bring in and coach players at universities and colleges in their community.
Today I received a pledge of $5,000 from one company for the fund, and several other individuals and companies have told me their are considering donations.
There is a saying that every disciplined action brings multiple rewards, and it is clear that the ripple effect of having scholarships and an international competition will get a lot more people active and involved in growing the game.
We need more help and support, and more money to buy boards and offer programs and scholarships and possibly some travel expenses for the finalists to compete live at a major event. So, thanks to all of you who have stepped up to support our efforts, and thanks to the rest of you who are thinking about how you can help with either a donation of time or money to help get more kids playing backgammon.
