This may be a more generic question, but why is there a problem exchanging foreign currency at a bank? I realize that there exists a challenge when working with amounts that will exceed $10k - tax etc. But surely, that just becomes a trip to another bank?

Personally, I dont run into these problems / challenges, as I dont go to international tournaments, so I am interested in the answer.
