OLM update

Thanks a million, Jason, for all the pleasure you have brought to BgOnline with the OLM! Not only is it fun; it's a learning experience as well.

I'm definitely in for the next match. I am happy to continue with the status quo or to make changes.

The main duties of a captain are to remind team members of the rules, and to decide the outcomes of consultations. The former job casts a captain in the role of chief "nagger." He has to nag at his friends when they read the votes of others before voting themselves.

The latter job is primarily one of presenting the arguments and counting votes. Although a captain has the right to impose his choice on his team, I have never felt a need to overrule the majority. I think the OLM is more fun when teammates are empowered. When teammates know that their votes matter in a consultation, it keeps them involved.

A big part of being captain is simply to show up. You have to keep track of the OLM, and be swift when there is a consultation. We like those to be decided in just over a day, so a captain must not take any holidays.

I am happy to continue as captain. I am equally happy to cede the role if my teammates want to let someone else have a turn.
