I second your thoughts about the tournament. I don't know why everyone doesn't prefer swiss movement events....you know all the reasons.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to you most of the tournament. Except for maybe me, I've never seen anyone busier and working harder at a tournament, and you are doing everything as a service (while I am doing some things strictly to volunteer and to help, but I get paid for a lot of what I am working on). Your are one of backgammon's great treasures, aside from the fact that you bring joy and enthusiasm and fun to the game.

Great tournament; great side events; and most exciting, if you didn't see my facebook picture and post, Jeb and the USBGF are really working to bring in more novice players with all kinds of discounts and perks. It's a lesson for the world, and it needs to happen not only at more tournaments, but at local clubs as well. Tournaments will grow if the clubs grow, and in the long run, tournaments will grow if we start working on bringing in more younger players as well.

Great job by all. I particularly loved the Faster Masters. If I had my choice, I would make all masters events faster masters...much more enjoyable to play and watch and the shorter time requires an additional level of skill in time-management.
