This was bugging me after I read it because I knew that there was a better example. Curling. In curling the team with the hammer throws the last rock. It would be considered an advantage to be down going into the last end with the hammer. Or down in general with the hammer. Even during any given end, the team that is trowing the first rock, would consider it a victory if they lost the end 1-0, and then acquired the hammer.
