I think the positions are surprisingly equal after blue makes the 5 point. Then blue can further strengthen it's position by making the bar point. That gives us a little racing lead with this roll. And I'll finish of by playing 24/18.

If blue were to make white's bar instead, and leave a bot on his own bar point, there is a very good chance that white will hit, and the racing lead for blue is gone. Better to have a blot hitting battle on the far side of the board.
