Several there not in tournament; implications?

I been going to pool tournaments for 32 years and played in about 3 or 4 of them.

Why?

I don't like to play on someone else's schedule, and for several reasons Phil mentioned.

Additionally I think it's just fine if people want show up for their own reasons. What's that harm in that? As long as they are not causing trouble.
