Monte Carlo Boards

The quality of the surface of the resurfaced boards is higly superior to the old boards and the expense and improvement is greatly appreciated. But, the size of the boards, the low bar, and the relatively flat checkers did not change. These are the easiest boards to cock a die on that I have ever seen. I have nothing against playing on the boards, other than they cock a die too often. If they would incorporate the die-on-a-checker rule they would be fine. It is frustrating to be in a position where you need to either accept repeated cocked dice or improper rolling. Neil is right, the bars on the boards are very low and if you roll, properly, towards them, in an effort to avoid the checkers, the dice will often hop over them.

This tournament seriously needs to incorporate the die-on-a-checker rule.
