Thanks for the input Casper. So it sounds like, for any single board position / match score, a more accurate doubling window within 'the window' can indeed be computed (the one it uses to immediately ding us if we make a wrong decision).
I think I understand your point about "needing many more doubling windows because you'd need to cover all position types."
but how about if the computer just computes this single doubling point for now: the one which relates specifically to the current board position and as a result, states the boundaries of this narrower, more accurate and position relevant, doubling window.
And on our next turn, for each of the best candidate plays we wish to consider, we are then told the boundaries of the next specific, position relevant doubling window.
Would this in theory allow us to track how our positional play and decisions affected the boundaries of our now accurate doubling window from move to move?
And might there be some learning value in being able to 'step through' this more relevant individual position-sensitive cube-action data?
