Stick's 32 there looks correct to me, since it is fine for the race and since if he later gets squeezed off his 6 pt, he is happy to have his 4 pt and a 5 pt board rather than maybe only a 4 pt board.

His play is also fine for timing.

Speaking of timing..OTB on my 51 a couple rolls earlier, I didn't like my play but also didn't care for breaking the 5 pt, but my subsequent 43 convinced me that I'd erred.
