Short version: Poker forums won't happen. [that was the answer regardless of what everyone said, I just like to hear the chirping]

Long version: I don't mind if anyone posts poker posts, preferably noting in the title of the post that it's about poker so the bg people don't have to click on it to find out what it's about. [I mean, that's plain mean, like titling a post "WOO HOO!" and making everyone read it]

I made the backgammon forums/site because I had a project and I want to get better at the game. I'm decent, but nowhere near how phenomenal I am at any given card game under the sun. Yes, the best part about me is my overt modestness, but I digress... Originally these forums were where I posted a lot of my hand histories from playing poker, discussing them between a few friends. I quickly got bored of this and down they came.

If I made poker forums or turned these into poker/bg forums it would be annoying to most, myself included. I don't mind in the least discussing poker with anyone here, you, Darin, Chuck, etc... people I know. You want to learn the game, I'll help in any way I can, but I'm not about to put in my not so valuable time to help the school that might flock to poker forums. Most poker forums lack quality posts. Even if the original post isn't just 'LOOK HOW BAD THIS FISH IS AND HOW HE SUCKED OUT ON ME!' the replies to a normal hand are weak and not much can be derived from people who don't know talking about a hand. (btw, I don't mind bad beat stories, but it's amazing sometimes that people post a 'bbs' and they don't even realize it wasn't that bad of a beat. I mean, if the other guy is 10% just stfu and move on to the next hand)

I do this site for free because as I said I'm doing it for myself. I wanted to do all the opening rolls. When I started the project I didn't even know who Ballard/Weaver were and that they supposedly had a book (or 26) coming out or I may not have even started. A poker site would be work for me and I'd get nothing out of it.

I'm not really awake...hope that all came out & I covered everything I had wanted to say when I originally read the thread. Good news...think I'm not sick anymore, question is though...how's Neil's foot? =)
